Olivia Hintz (she/her)
I’m a senior at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor studying Earth & Environmental Science, with minors in German and Writing. As you can tell by my project, learning how we can protect our environment while benefiting from its beauty and magic is extremely important to me. Thus, after I graduate, I’m planning on working on research and development in the renewable energy industry, hoping to accelerate the transition to clean energy by harnessing the power of the sun and wind.
More About Me
As you already know, I’m a Michigan native with roots in Novi, Michigan, although my parents will soon officially relocate to their Torch Lake house in Kewadin, Michigan. I love to travel, write, hike, and cook vegetarian food for myself and my loved ones. I’m also the current President of The Dot Org, a non-profit organization that works to eliminate the stigma around menstruation and make menstrual products more accessible to those in need in Washtenaw County.
Some of my past projects include writing for The Michigan Daily’s The Statement, a podcast series called Confessions of a Gaslit Woman, and publishing a research paper analyzing community reactions towards utility-scale solar developments in the Midwest. Yet, the favorite among most of my friends is my essay exploring the coming-of-age lyricism in Lorde’s Melodrama.
